Double-bass Concerto in Hiroshima

On 15 January, Tubin’s Double-bass concerto will be performed in Hiroshima. The soloist is Edicson Ruiz. Christian Arming is conducting the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra. The program also contains Bernstein’s Three Dance Episodes from the musical On the Town and Dvorak’s 9th Symphony From the New World.

Tubin’s music in Berliner Philarmonie

On November 24, Eduard Tubin’s music was performed in the Berlin Philharmonic Grand Hall. The program included the Suite of Estonian Dances (ETW 15) and the Double Bass Concerto. Regina Udod, concertmaster of the Double Bass Group of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, was the soloist. Mihhail Gerts, artistic director of the TubIN festival, conducted.

Tubin’s Kratt Suite performed by a percussion quartet

The premiere of the percussion quartet version of The Suite from the Ballet “The Goblin” will be held on November 22 in Stockholm’s Estonian House and November 23 in the great hall of the Stockholm Music Pedagogical Institute. The author of the percussion version is Lauri Metsvahi.

Onur Özkaya plays Tubin’s double-bass conserto

The Turkish double-bass player Onur Özkaya will perform Tubin’s double-bass concerto on 15. December 2023 at the Istanbul AKM Türk Telekom Opera Hall. He is accompanied by the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alessandro Crudele. Özkaya made the first performance of Tubin’s double-bass concerto in Turkey at Eskişehir on Tubin’s centenary year 2005.

Eduard Tubin 117: concert and opening of the exhibition “Tubin’s Car.”

June 8 marks the 117th birthday of Eduard Tubin and the 11th birthday of the Tubin Museum.
5 pm, a recital of Atlan Karp (baritone) and Andre Hinn (piano) in the chamber hall of the Tubin Museum takes place.
After the concert, the museum will open the long-awaited “Tubin’s Car” exposition in the garage of the Alatskivi castle parking lot. The composer’s car Plymouth Valiant and an overview of Tubins’ travels are on display.
The event is free and is supported by the Cultural Endowment.
