Ivy Plus Libraries has selected the website, http://www.tubinsociety.com/, for inclusion in its Contemporary Composers Web Archive. The Archive is a newly launched initiative developed by music librarians at Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale Universities, and the Universities of Chicago and Pennsylvania. The project aims to preserve websites belonging to notable contemporary composers in order to assure the continuing availability of these important, and potentially ephemeral, documents for use by researchers and scholars.
On the 25 August Gunārs Upatnieks and Ulster Orchestra with Olari Elts conducting perform Tubin’s Double Bass Concerto in the Ulster Hall (Belfast, Northern Ireland).
